Ball Position:

This element of the game has become very complicated to many players due to all the beliefs and opinions out there. Golf is already a very difficult game, so there is no need to make it any more difficult than it needs to be. I learned a long time ago about the K.I.S.S. method “Keep It Simple Stupid”, which sounds funny, but is so powerful if you apply it to this crazy game of golf.

Let’s Simplify! Ball Position is so much easier to remember if you break it down into two positions.
1.When the ball is on the tee: (Closer to lead foot)
2.When the ball is on the ground: (Middle of stance)

On the Tee: Place the ball closer to the lead foot in the stance ahead of center. The lead foot is the foot closest to the target. This will be true for all the clubs in your bag, including the woods, hybrids, and irons, when making a full swing. Placing the ball forward in the stance will allow the player to hit the ball only off the tee eliminating ground first contact. “Tee it high and let it fly”!

Off the Ground: Place the ball closer to the middle of the stance. This will be true for all the cubs in your bag, including the woods, hybrids, and irons, when making a full swing. The center of the stance will allow you the best chance to get the ball up in the air. The center of your stance is the position in which the club head approaches its lowest point of the swing. This will allow the club to get close enough to the ground to contact the ball on the clubface thus pushing the ball up into the air and presto we have lift off!

If you can apply these two ball positions to your game, you have just simplified your game.
